Stained Concrete Floors

Stained concrete floors are see-through by nature, so whatever the slab has lived through shows up in the color. That's the charm and the risk. Acid stain reacts with the lime in the concrete and gives you a mottled, leathery look; a water-based dye lays down more evenly if you want control. Either way we grind off carpet glue, mastic and old paint first, because anything left on the surface blocks the stain and you'll be looking at that outline forever. Order every yard of a pour from the same batch, too. Two loads mixed a half hour apart can land two shades apart, and no sealer on earth blends that seam. Colored Cement

Colored cement means the pigment goes in at the plant, mixed through the whole load, not brushed on after. That distinction matters more than people think.
